This project addresses this gap by drawing on a qualitative dataset of 60 in-depth interviews conducted during my Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship to examine how racialization, gendered inequalities, language, class, and institutional barriers shape migrant women’s entrepreneurial trajectories in Québec.

The Ethics of Abjuration: How can we adapt our engagement to the present moment?

Within this research program, we argue that abjuration, as conceptualized by Pasolini, constitutes a posture of adaptive fidelity to shifting realities. In other words, to abjure is not to cease being faithful to oneself. Despite its centrality, no existing study of Pasolini’s work foregrounds abjuration as an ethical paradigm, even though it emerges as a key leitmotif for understanding his aesthetic and political engagement.
