Edith Brunette

Edith Brunette is an artist, writer, and researcher. She  explores the discourses that shape and undermine power, as well as the range of forms of political engagement—particularly within the field of art. Cultivating collective forms of practice, her projects have focused on our relationship to place, the entrepreneurial ethos, and public discourse during times of social crisis. Her works have been exhibited in galleries and art centers across Canada and Europe, and she regularly contributes to various publications at the intersection of art and politics. Among her recent publications is the book Aller à, faire avec, passer pareil (2021), co-edited with François Lemieux. She is the author of a dissertation on conceptions of freedom and the political engagement of Canadian artists (University of Ottawa, 2024).
